The lacing makes it easy to find a snug fit, but don’t expect to kick these puppies off easily, especially after completing a route in frigid temps. I found the bootie was a bit rigid and could be a problem if you tried to open the enclosure with frost on your digits.

Merrell Moab Flight

When the temperature drops below 50 degrees, the Moab Flights from Merrell are just as comfortable as if they were a trail runner. On days that didn’t feature overcast, I liked the mesh upper, even though it isn’t waterproof.

The collar is plush, cozy and prime for walking paces, but I did feel a slip or two when quickening my strides, as the shoe is almost too comfy. For a better feel in every step, I recommend using a heel lock lace system, finally use that extra eyelet.
